Hacking of the American Mind

Is there a difference between pleasure and happiness? That is the subject of an interview broadcasted recently on our local radio station. Dr. Robert Lustig is famous for his anti-sugar campaign. He has been on several radio programs, TV programs, and TED talks, speaking about his books. There is a link to his interview with KPFA radio host Brian Edwards Tickered, during the pledge drive of this Berkeley radio station. He speaks about "corporate consumption complex" and why everything becomes addictive.
Here is the link:

Dr. Lustig speaks about the difference between dopamine and serotonin. What makes us enjoy something and why that joy does not last long? What is the long lasting joy? He mentions that there are 4200 religions and none of them has got it right (otherwise there would be only one), but they all have followers. What do they share among each other? He explains in detail that dopamine is the receptor for pleasure and serotonin is the receptor for happiness. How we can achieve each is the subject of his speech on this audio link.
