‘We are human’: Surviving 423 days of genocide in Gaza

Hunger. Cold. Thirst. Disease. These are the daily realities of life in Gaza, where for the past 423 days, Israel has unleashed a genocide that will come to define our contemporary era. As Palestinians struggle to meet their daily needs, they are also faced with a battle to preserve their memories and dignity. Over the past year, journalist and filmmaker Ruwaida Amer has produced numerous powerful, heart-wrenching documentary reports for TRNN from the rubble and ruins of Gaza, shining a light on the darkest realities of Israel’s genocidal war on Palestinians, even as she herself suffers from—and struggles to survive—the onslaught. Calling in from Gaza, Amer joins The Marc Steiner Show to share an honest portrait of her life and the lives of her fellow Palestinians in the midst of genocide.

Eight Days in Palestine

I’m back in Jordan after eight days in Palestine. I was in Palestine as part of a delegation to be in solidarity with and learn from those engaged in Palestinian liberation. We visited and had dialogues with Palestinians and Israelis in Bethlehem, Hebron, Jerusalem, Nablus, Ramallah and Sderot. We sat, listened to and spoke with Christians, Jews, Muslims and non-believers. We went to the Gaza border.

-Four people were slightly injured as they rushed to the shelters as sirens sounded in central Israel following the launch of a missile from Yemen.

-Two children were killed in an Israeli bombardment of a tent housing displaced persons southwest of Al Mawasi in Khan Yunis.

-According to the Palestinian Health Ministry (Gaza), 44,382 Palestinians have been killed, and 105,142 wounded in Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza starting on October 7, 2023.

انقلاب ایران به‌زعم جامعه‌شناسان یکی از انقلاب‌های بزرگ تاریخ معاصر جهان است که در زمره انقلاب‌های کلاسیک چون انقلاب فرانسه و روسیه شمرده می‌شود. این انقلاب در عین اینکه موضوع مطالعات فراوان بوده به تئوری‌های توطئه نیز دامن زده است. گروهی از هواداران سلطنت در ایران، کنفرانس گوادلوپ را توطئه قدرت‌های جهانی برای سرنگونی محمدرضاشاه پهلوی می‌دانند اما این کنفرانس چه بود و چگونه می‌توانست به سرنگونی رژیمی قدرتمند که تا چندی پیش از آن، توسط رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا جزیره ثبات معرفی شده بود، کمک کند؟
