The Iranian Red Crescent Society announced Saturday that 201 people were killed and 747 wounded as a result of what Tehran described as Israeli–American aggression targeting several provinces since the morning hours.
In a separate statement, Iran’s Ministry of Education said 86 students were killed in attacks on three schools across the country.
Earlier reports had detailed a strike on a girls’ elementary school in Minab. Iranian authorities now say casualties from multiple school attacks have sharply increased.
In Fars province, twenty female volleyball players were killed in airstrikes targeting a sports hall in Lamerd, according to Iranian media.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps told Russia’s RIA Novosti that the initial US–Israeli assault targeted military and administrative facilities in Tehran and other cities. Tehran has repeatedly described the campaign as unlawful aggression that also struck civilian infrastructure.
220 Missiles Launched toward Israel
In response, Iran expanded Operation True Promise 4, launching 220 missiles toward Israel since early Saturday, according to Israeli media.
According to Iranian statements, large missile barrages targeted military and security centers “in the heart of the occupied Palestinian territories.”
Sirens reportedly sounded in Tel Aviv and its surroundings, occupied Jerusalem, north of Ashdod, Caesarea, Asqalon (Ashkelon), the Naqab (Negev) and Haifa, with explosions heard in multiple locations.
The IRGC earlier announced that Operation True Promise 4 included strikes against the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, as well as American bases in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Behnam Saeedi, secretary of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s parliament, stated that Iranian armed forces targeted seven American bases in seven different countries.
Air Defenses Down Drones
As the confrontation intensified, Iranian air defenses reported multiple interceptions of Israeli drones.
The Lebanese news network Al Mayadeen reported that the Iranian army destroyed 12 Israeli combat and reconnaissance drones in recent hours through the integrated air defense network of the Khatam al-Anbiya base.
Tasnim News Agency reported that Iranian air defenses shot down an Israeli Hermes drone in Tabriz. Earlier, three Hermes drones were reportedly downed in Tabriz, Khomein and Ahvaz, while Fars News Agency said two additional Hermes drones were intercepted in Isfahan.
Iranian state television previously announced the destruction of the American FP-132 radar stationed in Qatar, described as one of the most important US missile-tracking and surveillance centers in the region, with a detection range of up to 5,000 kilometers.
Iran’s Ministry of Defense stated that the armed forces, with public support, would continue to respond “decisively and strongly,” declaring that Operation True Promise 4 would continue “until the enemy is defeated.”
The ministry warned that continued aggression would deepen US failure and further destabilize Israel, as the regional confrontation shows no immediate signs of de-escalation.
