Levy is certainly one of them. Levy submitted the manuscript of “Shooting and
Not Crying: The New Militarization of Israel in the 2000s” in April 2022, and
the book was published in February 2023 by Lamda – The Open University Press,
as if to prepare us for the events of October 7.

Will Egypt Ditch Camp David Accords If Israel Invades Rafah?

It is being
widely reported based on press leaks that the Egyptian government of President
Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has privately threatened Israel. Cairo is said to have
warned that the 1978 Camp David Peace Treaty will be suspended “with immediate
effect” if the government of Binyamin Netanyahu tries to take over the
Philadelphi Corridor at the Gaza-Egypt Border and if it expels the Palestinians
of Gaza into Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula at the Rafah border crossing as a result
of an invasion of Rafah City. Israel attempted to convince an Egyptian
delegation to Tel Aviv on Friday that Cairo should cooperate with the Israeli
war plan, but allegedly was rebuffed.

برخلاف رأی اولیهٔ دیوان بینالمللی دادگستری، اسرائیل و آمریکا با توسل به همهٔ توطئهها به پاکسازی قومی در غزّه ادامه میدهند

در روز جمعه ۲۶ ژانویهٔ ۳۰۲۴، دیوان بینالمللی دادگستری، با ۱۶ رأی مثبت و یک رأی منفی، قرار موقت و رأی اولیه خود را در تأیید نظر آفریقای جنوبی، بهنفع مردم فلسطین و به ضرر اسرائیل صادر کرد. رأی اولیه بر آن است که آنچه در نوار غزه میگذرد از مصادیق جنایات بینالمللی، از جمله نسلکشی است. واضح است که این جنایات بینالمللی از جمله نسلکشی، با حمایت همهجانبهٔ دولت آمریکا از رژیم کودککُش صیهونیستی صورت پذیرفته و به طرق مختلف و در نهایت قساوت هنوز هم ادامه دارد.ا

weeks, the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip has witnessed intense
Israeli bombardment by ground and air, as well as fierce clashes between
Israeli forces and Hamas fighters. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant
announced last week that the army had successfully dismantled Hamas’
capabilities in the city — a claim Israel made earlier about Gaza City in the
north, only to be proven wrong. But in Khan Younis, as in the rest of Gaza, it
is we civilians who are bearing the brunt of the violence.

Thus began a recent, and oh so
typical, piece of war reportage. It was purveyed by the New York Times but it’s
something you find in almost any mainstream source. The essence of the news is
that the U.S. will continue to support Israel’s right to “defend itself” by
bombing the crap out of Gaza and will keep feeding it the military equipment
necessary to do so, but it sternly urges Israel to try not to kill too many
babies or other civilians. Get it? War must be — and is, when we wage it — a
moral undertaking.
