فروغ پس از انتشار سه کتاب به وزن کلاسیک، با کتاب و شعر تولدی دیگر شهرتی ابدی یافت. بر یکی از کوچکترین قطعات اخوان کتابی نوشته شده. شعر کوچه مشیری، گر چه خودش آنرا شعری نه چندان متفاوت می‌انگاشت، زبانزد همگان شد. سیب مصدق در اوایل انقلاب همانند سرود شد. سهراب با آب را گل نکنیم، رنگ تازه‌ای به نگاه به طبیعت داد. دو شعر از اشعار عاشقانه ابتهاج بارها و بارها در مطلع اشعار دیگران قرار گرفت. بامداد با شعر عابر خود فصل جدیدی را گشود. و گرچه حالت هیچگاه لبخند را از لبها نگرفت، با وصیت‌نامه‌اش دفتر طنزش را برای همیشه جاودانه کرد

George Carlin is a familiar name for those who enjoy standup comedy. He belongs to the group of standups who have no restrictions in what they say, what is called “Black Comedy”. His specialty was poking fun on taboo subjects. As a result, some of his jokes are grotesque, and some are just off the line. This decision of making everything inclusive in his subject matter would provide him with unlimited material to work on. As a result, some of the most interesting lines were articulated by him, which is remarkably expanded; from English language to religion, race, social structure, science, art, politics, and variety of subjects.

WASHINGTON
(NYTIMES) - The New York Times has verified security camera footage on Tuesday
(Jan 14) that shows, for the first time, that two missiles hit Ukraine
International Airlines Flight 752 on Jan 8. The missiles were launched from an
Iranian military site around 13km from the plane. The new video fills a gap
about why the plane’s transponder stopped working, seconds before it was hit by
a second missile. An earlier Times analysis confirmed what Iran later admitted:
that an Iranian missile did strike the plane. The Times also established that
the transponder stopped working before that missile hit the plane.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump was a picture of calm as he strolled onto the red carpet for a New Year's Eve party at his Florida resort this week. After threatening Iran in a series of tweets hours earlier, Trump seemed eager to lower tensions.

"I want to have peace. I like peace," Trump, clad in a tuxedo, told reporters when asked if an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad would lead to war with Iran. "I don’t see that happening."
But the president's allies described a more tense picture behind the scenes as he shuttled between his Mar-a-Lago estate and meetings at his nearby golf course, where he huddled with advisers to craft a response to the violent protests at the U.S. compound that reverberated around the globe.

American History Revised

American History Revised is a book by Seymour Harris Jr. detailing some historical accounts which have been omitted from textbooks and many other history books.

In a chapter titled “Forgotten by History” he writes: “In 1506 a compilation of Vespucci’s letters was published in pamphlet form, titled ‘The Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci’. For the next twenty-five years, it was a bestseller, published in some forty editions, and outselling the dull journals of Columbus by three to one. In 1507 a book of geography appeared, Cosmographiae Introductio, identifying the new continent as ‘America’. The author eventually realized that Vespucci’s claims of discovery were false and soon removed the name America, but by then it was too late: Vespucci’s bestseller had won the day... History is brutal in who becomes famous and doesn’t. Said Theodore Roosevelt after leaving office in 1910, ‘If there is not the great war, you don’t get the great general’”, (P. 34-35). And that is how America became the title of a continent and the name of fifty plus united states and territories which geographically occupies a landmass that makes it one of the largest countries in the world, with the greatest power in technology and military.

Countries Americans Are Not Welcomed

Some research organizations surveyed various countries as to their level of acceptance of American tourists. They found 25 countries where not all residents think Americans are welcomed. Considering that there are 195 countries in the world, this lack of enthusiasm for Americans is in less than one eighth of all countries, which may not sound substantial. However, when we realize that beside of Iraq, Syria and Palestine, there are European countries such as Germany, Austria, and even our neighbor Canada in this list, one must check the cause, reason, or motivation. Of course, like everything else, there are not one or two reasons, but a combination of several facts. The remarkable thing is that when we find the grounds, we realize that none of the explanations has anything to do with ordinary American tourists, but it has everything to do with the U.S. government.

One must be careful about such political statements. There is no doubt that the content of this video is ‎accurate and what this person is reporting about the Iranian government and the uprising is correct. ‎However, it is not difficult to find dirt on the Islamic regime, as it has been soiled with violence since its conception. The ‎question is who is saying this and to what end and purpose. The person in this clip is obviously publicizing ‎the line of the government of Israel, for the consumption of Iranian people. Considering that the Zionist ‎government was founded by Judaist framework, and it is a religious government (in fact more religious than ‎the Islamic government), and taking into the account its maltreatment of Palestinians which can be ‎compared with the treatment of Jews by the Third-Reich, it is curious for a government spokesperson of Israel ‎condemning another religious state and its human rights violations.‎

No is not enough

When Donald Trump was elected as the president, only close to 63 million people who voted for him were happy. This is 19.5% of the 323 million population of the United States in 2016. The other 80% were either indifferent, or shocked, or angry; or they were not old enough to vote or care. We don’t know what percent leaned which way. But those who were indifferent, either did not care about the politics, or knew his presidency would be the natural progression of the political condition in this country.

It is a general knowledge that the founding fathers of the United States were slaveholders. Ben Franklin was a dealmaker, who was able to guarantee independence of the United States from the British during the ‎revolution. His son William, however, led an army in favor of the Royalists and against the revolutionaries. He was imprisoned after the success of the revolution, until daddy released him and sent him to England to live there for the rest of his life. The most famous presidents of the United States are George Washington, Woodrow Wilson, and Franklin Roosevelt. However, it may not be a common knowledge that Washington became a slave owner at the age of eleven, Wilson was a racist to the core, and Roosevelt’s New Deal was a part of a series of demands by socialists, in which he had to accept or face a revolution. Any of the other presidents’ attitudes towards the majority of people, from Lincoln to Kennedy, to Carter, to Obama, requires a study to realize that their presidency summed up in benefiting a very small minority group, the wealthy. We may grade each president in that respect, however the ‎tendency has been accelerating by each president, with a sharp spike during Reagan’s presidency, when Neoliberalism was adopted. This tendency ended up with the presidency of the multi-billionaire himself.

محاکمه من تنها یک امری نیست داخلی‌ چون که نهضت ملی‌ ایران سبب شده که محاکمه جنبه بین‌المللی هم پیدا کند و مورد توجه دنیا قرار بگیرد و همه میخواهند بدانند نتیجه آن به کجا می‌رسد.

چنانچه دادگاه نظامی در معنی‌ و مفهوم مشروطیت شک کند، عقلای عالم و سیاست شناسان معنای مشروطیت را خوب فهمیده‌اند و اگر ببینند که پس از نیم قرن مشروطیت ما، رجال و دادرسان محاکم در الفبای مشروطیت وامانده و مردی را به جرم این که گفته است وزرای دولت و نخست وزیر فقط در مقابل مجلسین مسئولیت دارند، محکوم میکنند، و باز اگر ببینند دولتی که استعمارگران بیگانه را از مملکت بیرون رانده دچار حبس و بند میکنند و ناسزا میگویند، آیا به رشد سیاسی ما چگونه فکر میکنند؟

Tyler Wade was awarded the Purple Heart while serving in Afghanistan, and says he is “proud of everything” he did during his service. He also believes the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan were a mistake, as do a growing number of veterans — from retired generals to those who served across the enlisted ranks, from supporters of President Trump to “resistance” Democrats.

“All in all, it is a lot of wasted lives and money and time and effort spent to accomplish a goal we never accomplished,” said Mr. Wade, 31, who was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan during his five years in the Marines and is now a nursing student in Las Vegas.

A View from Outside

It has taken the system, the regime, the hidden government, the establishment, the deep state, or whatever the power that rules the United States is identified as, a long time to change the culture of American people to what we witness today, scientifically and successfully. It takes someone from outside who had been raised in a different culture to notice it, because the culture manipulation and the setup has been so successful that a person raised in America would not even notice that he or she has been trained throughout the years and decades to believe and accept whatever the establishment propagates, and stay compliant. When PG&E, the energy monopoly in California announces that electricity has to be shut down in order to prevent a fire that may be ignited because of lack of maintenance of many of its infrastructure for decades, instead of objecting or protesting, people rush to purchase generators and other equipment to keep their televisions on. It means pursuing a rather individualistic life, with an air of arrogance (American exceptionality and leadership) and as a result, ignorance and lack of compassion towards the rest of the global population. America, in fact, had been the utopia for many people around the world, and for many decades after the Second World War and until late 1970s and early 1980s. There are many reasons why America became a great nation for three or four decades, and why Americans still feel exceptional. It has been a proposition for the historians to delve into the history of this country, from the time when Europeans landed on different parts of the continent, to the Second World War, when an opportunity arose to claim global supremacy. Someone from outside of this great country may look inside with a different view.

John Bolton is gone from the White House, yet war with Iran is suddenly imminent. I had begun to believe irony was dead.

 “[Bolton] calls for the preemptive bombing of Iran with dreary regularity during his many Fox News appearances,” I wrote after he became Donald Trump’s national security adviser in March of 2018, “and has labored for years to arrange the proper set of circumstances that would allow Tehran to be rendered into a pile of rubble.”

I was actually foolish enough to indulge in a brief moment of optimism after Bolton was unceremoniously shown the door last week. There was talk of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo taking on Bolton’s role like some dual use neo-Kissinger, but that idea guttered out quickly. Trump could replace Bolton with Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster, I told myself, and war with Iran — the issue over which Bolton reportedly lost his gig — would still be less likely. It felt like a tiny reprieve in a chaotic age.

Yeah, about that.
