Pondering about an e-mail: Why Seniors Want Trump

I received this e-mail from a proponent of Trump, and since the e-mail is on behalf of seniors, and I am one of them, I thought I should respond to it. Read my response after the e-mail:
This is the list of 13 things that we senior citizens want!

This is why Trump is zooming ahead.  He is at least talking about issues that most Americans are concerned about.

My mantra about Trump is this:  We are usually in agreement with most of what he
says.   We are getting older and our tickers aren't what they used to be . . .

The Vietnam War and Our War on Yemen Have Something in Common.... Nonexistent Attacks

By Joe Clifford
October 21, 2016 "Information Clearing House" - The missile attack on a US ship off the coast of Yemen was a major news event, but the subsequent follow up story, that it may never have happened, was either ignored by mainstream media or intentionally covered up. The whole thing has the same odor as the Gulf of Tonkin incident that never occurred.
Does history repeat itself?  Sure does seem like it. That is if you compare America’s entry into the Vietnam civil war, with America’s latest entry into the war in Yemen.

The Middle East and the Next Administration

By Chas W. Freeman, Jr.
October 21, 2016 "Information Clearing House" - "LobeLog"- Osama bin Laden surely died happy. He devoted the last third of his life to creating animosity between the West and Islam and to driving a wedge between Saudi Arabia and the United States. Today, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey are all estranged from the United States. And, as an unexpected bonus, so is Israel. The U.S. is making enemies all over the Muslim world. And every day here at home, millions pay homage to the memory of Osama as they remove their shoes to pass through metal detectors and are stripped of their dignity by body-imaging devices at airports. Americans are less secure, less prosperous, and less free than we were as this century began. In life, Osama was transformative. In death, he continues to shape the world he left behind.

Provoking nuclear war by media- By John Pilger

hh.jpg

The exoneration of a man accused of the worst of crimes, genocide, made no headlines. Neither the BBC nor CNN covered it. The Guardian allowed a brief commentary. Such a rare official admission was buried or suppressed, understandably. It would explain too much about how the rulers of the world rule.

ISIS, Not Russia, Is the Enemy in Syria

[An important note: Patrick Buchanan was a presidential candidate nominated by Republican Party. He is a Reagan conservative, and by no means a liberal! However, his views about American policy in today's Middle East in interesting.]

By Patrick Buchanan
October 07, 2016 "Information Clearing House" - Denouncing Russian air strikes on Aleppo as "barbaric," Mike Pence declared in Tuesday's debate:
"The provocations by Russia need to be met with American strength. ... The United States of America should be prepared to use military force, to strike military targets of Bashar Assad regime."
John McCain went further:
"The U.S. ... must issue an ultimatum to Mr. Assad — stop flying or lose your aircraft ... If Russia continues its indiscriminate bombing, we should make clear that we will take steps to hold its aircraft at greater risk."
Yet one gets the impression this is bluster and bluff.

Pentagon Begins Low-Intensity, Stealth War in Syria

By Mike Whitney
“Last Wednesday, at a Deputies Committee meeting at the White House, officials from the State Department, the CIA and the Joint Chiefs of Staff discussed limited military strikes against the (Assad) regime … One proposed way to get around the White House’s long-standing objection to striking the Assad regime without a U.N. Security Council resolution would be to carry out the strikes covertly and without public acknowledgment.”

September 15, 2016 Assad’s Death Warrant by Mike Whitney

“Secret cables and reports by the U.S., Saudi and Israeli intelligence agencies indicate that the moment Assad rejected the Qatari pipeline, military and intelligence planners quickly arrived at the consensus that fomenting a Sunni uprising in Syria to overthrow the uncooperative Bashar Assad was a feasible path to achieving the shared objective of completing the Qatar/Turkey gas link. In 2009, according to WikiLeaks, soon after Bashar Assad rejected the Qatar pipeline, the CIA began funding opposition groups in Syria.”
— Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Why the Arabs don’t want us in Syria, Politico
The conflict in Syria is not a war in the conventional sense of the word. It is a regime change operation, just like Libya and Iraq were regime change operations.
The main driver of the conflict is the country that’s toppled more than 50 sovereign governments since the end of World War 2.  (See: Bill Blum here.) We’re talking about the United States of course.

Record U.S. military aid deal for Israel to be signed on Wednesday

By Matt Spetalnick and Patricia Zengerle7 hrs ago

© REUTERS/Gali Tibbon/Pool Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gestures as he opens the weekly cabinet meeting at his Jerusalem officeThe United States and Israel have agreed on a record $38 billion package of U.S. military aid and will sign the new pact on Wednesday, enshrining defense funding for Washington’s closest Middle East ally for the next decade, officials said.
The deal will represent the biggest pledge of U.S. military assistance made to any country but also involves major concessions granted by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to officials on both sides and U.S. congressional aides.
Those include Israel’s agreement not to seek additional funds from Congress beyond what will be guaranteed annually in the new package, and to phase out a special arrangement that has allowed Israel to spend part of its U.S. aid on its own defense industry instead of on American-made weapons, the officials said.

On The Anniversary of September 11

9/11 Fear And Vengeance
Steve Javaherian

As we remember 9/11, we remember the American response to the attacks on the World Trade Towers in New York. The chaos resembled more like a national anxiety attack in which we imagined that our entire national security and way of life had come under a threat by a relatively small and stateless group of radical islamists. America declared a war for survival, and by doing so we became and behaved like them, angry, intolerant, ethnocentric, and resorted to violence to promote our ideology, just like they did. Vengeance was on our mind even-though we called it justice. We effectively altered parts of our constitution by illegal detentions, torture and abrogation of our sense of civil rights in exchange for an unclear cry of national security and safety.
And what price did we pay for it? Over six thousand American soldiers dead, double what had already perished in the Twin Towers. More than 200,000 American military ended up being diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries alone, of which many committed suicide, and many turned violent against their own family when they returned, close to one million Iraqis and Afghanis were reported killed between 2003 and 2013, which the vast majority were civilians. And the cost of three trillion dollars ($3,000,000,000,000) that could have been spent on health care, education or paying off national debt. All that money, of course, has been borrowed. What have we gained? Are we safer now from the terrorist attack than we were ten years ago? Did the radical Islamists really threatened our way of life? Is the world a safer place today? Did we bring democracy to Iraq and Afghanestan and the rest of the Middle East? What have we learned about ourselves? What other questions are left for a conscientious mind to ask?
